Unlike most depictions of Jesus walking on water through a storm, Austin wanted to capture a scene of Jesus walking on a waveless sea. It’s easy to remember what it feels like to be in the midst of the storm, but it’s not always as easy to pause, let Jesus calm our thoughts, and listen for His guidance. I envision the calm water after He spoke to the sea, "Peace, be still." And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
