Originally painted for his Mom, Austin wanted to depict a serene, Jewish-looking Jesus with a gentle look that draws in the viewer. The background is inspired by his mother's family ranch, which is a place where she learned to work hard and pray even harder. Through this piece, Austin aimed to capture the profound love we hold for Jesus and remind us of the love of a God who gave His only Son for us.
